COMMERCE CASINO'S PARTICIPATION WITH THE COMMERCE INDUSTRIAL COUNCIL - CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

As a significant business in the City's commercial sector, the Commerce Casino takes an active role in the Commerce Industrial Council, the community's chamber of commerce. As the largest chamber in the region, its members are as diverse as the community itself, representing businesses and industries of all sizes.

Dedicated to shaping the City’s dynamic business environment, while creating wealth in the community and making our City a great place to live and work, it seeks to create a positive business climate in the area and provides a forum for marketing and networking between the various business entrepreneurs and the region's corporate executive staff.  Since 1959, the organization has provided an important link between business and the city government.

Debbie Payne, the Commerce Casino's Director of Community Relations has served as a Past-President (2000-01) of the Commerce Industrial Council and continues to sit on its executive board.  She works diligently on a variety of committees, assisting other Council staff and members with staging the Council's major annual events - its Golf Tournament, Business Trade Show, Officer's Installation Dinner, and Women in Business Luncheon.  In March 2007, Debbie was presented with the Chamber's inaugural "2007 Woman of the Year Award" for her outstanding achievements and many valuable contributions to the City of Commerce.  The award was presented at the Chamber's Annual Women in Business Fashion Show and Awards Luncheon, which is presented and aligned with National Administrative Professionals Day.  The Commerce Casino is a major financial supporter of many of these programs, and is one of the alternating hosts for the Women in Business Luncheon.

Established in November of 1959, the Commerce Industrial Council - Chamber of Commerce has helped hundreds of businesses take root in the City of Commerce.  It has been the voice of business since incorporation of the city in 1960.  Today, with nearly 50 years of experience, the Chamber represents a vast variety of businesses and industry in Commerce.
